DGAF WEDNESDAY

Woke up at 11 for a class at 12.
Realized that the bathrooms were being cleaned.
Cleaning took FOREVER.
I took a shower at 11:50.
Did not go to class.
Hence the title DGAF WEDNESDAY.
End of story.

SLIM'S

A little review of the TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB concert at the legendary Slim's.

Funeral Party:
I was in for a surprise. I tend to disregard opening acts because, come on, who really cares about them right?! It’s all about the main act; the opening acts usually make us all antsy and eager for the REAL act to finally emerge, no one really gives a thought about them. Well, this band truly surprised me. Not only did it make me shake shake shake but it made me nod, bop, and move everything I’ve got! They’re so full of rock-and-roll energy; it was excruciatingly addicting and infective. Even though I’ve never heard of them, much less know any lyrics, I was super into their beat and sound (I even tried to sing along, shhh!) It totally didn’t hurt that one of their guitarist (curly brown hair, stashe, v-neck, skinny jeans, socks/no shoes, ugh can you say yummy?!) was totally and utterly cute. On top of that, he hella rocked his guitar. Oh yea, you heard me, I said HELLLLAAA, he was just THAT good. To top it all off, he had the sexy-eyes-closed-because-I’m-so-into-my-music-I’m-in-my-own-little-world-and-nothing-else-fucking-matters-look on his face and it was SOOOOOOO sexy, AH! I DIE! LOVED THEM!

The Generationals:
After Funeral Party I was pumped and ridiculously ready for anything! The Generationals gave off a different vibe; a bit less of the rock-and-roll vibe and a little more indie pop. Hailing from New Orleans, this group’s is oober hipster to say the least. The bassist, who is SOSOSOCUTE by the way, was wearing a plaid button up, plaid boxers, cuffed jeans, and boat shoes without socks. I could NOT stop staring at him, he was THAT delicious looking, not to mention totally nice/funny/seemed genuine as he complimented how much he loved SF (bonus points!) Loved their poppy sound, it was infatuating. The bassist/guitarist (yes, he can play both!) would bop up and down as he played and it was soo cute! The girl drummer was so intense, something you don’t necessarily expect, and it was amazing! Instead of drinking beer like the guys, she had Starbucks. I don’t know why I was so intrigued by that but it totally stuck out to me. Her energy was a mixture of badass and sweet; I totally dug it. Overall, great band, great sound, awesome music. I’ll gladly see them again!

Two Door Cinema Club:
Now for the finale, the main act, the big shrimp (Drake and Josh reference anyone?): Two Door Cinema Club! They were down right AMAZING! They sounded so good live and everyone was just SO ready for them. Peaceful, no shoving or annoying “HAVE MY BABIES PLEASE! I WANT TO SEX YOU” from fan girls, it was an awesome experience just loosing yourself to their beat/lyrics. They literally brain fucked me, literally. It was epic. They were all so adorable with their little Irish accents and all. They totally looked like posh preppy boys in their oxfords and button ups and jamming out their electro indie pop, ahh it made them that much more attractive. What more can I say? They exceed all of my expectations and more, I enjoyed every single second of their 58 minute set. When the concert ended I was in such a euphoric state that I didn’t even attempt/want to leave. The energy they left us was a million times more than anything I’ve ever felt in a concert; this was easily one of the top 3 concerts I’ve ever attended. So worth the $21 ticket.

MEET FINLEY NORTON HASTINGS

I really must stop sleeping when the sun rises, it's becoming such a terrible habit! Astronomy midterm #2 is dunzo, YAY! It only took 8 1/2 hours of "studying", 2 coffees, 1 bowl of delicious curry, 2 hours of procrastination, a bear market run and more random chit chat for me to get any sort of substantial cramming in and I still left the midterm feeling like "EHHHBLEHH*(%&@%*(@&WHATEVER!!!" Thank goodness it's over and I refuse to look at the results anytime soon because it's finally THE WEEKEND! YESSS! Since I was feeling destined to fail, I decided to at least look a bit better than my bummy mood. I look studious, yeaa?

SO SOFT. SO PINK. SO LOVELY. I LIKIE.

I love this lacy crochety looking top. It's so simple and versatile, yet it adds a little OOMPH! to my outfits. And for $7, it was nothing but a WIN!
I can't help myself. I LOVE THESE GLASSES! I actually feel more studious with them on. Werid huh? My real glasses feel so neglected like I'm ashamed of them or somethings cause I never ever wear them out to see the light of day. It's not like I don't like my serious glasses or anything...it's just....I mean....EH...fuck it. THESE ARE CUTER. THERE. I SAID IT.
These heels feel so Madmen to me. I feel super proper and ladylike in them,

lacy top: ross ($7)
blue cardigan: taiwan
grey jeggings: choice
vintage like heels: buffalos ($19)
brown belt: thrifted ($4)
pink slouchy hat: crossroads ($12)
fake hipster glasses: party store ($5)
paris necklace: gift

And some of you may be confused by the title, "Who in the hell is this Finley fellow with the super weird pretentious name?!" Well, since I am now a mature young adult (BWAHAHAHA NOT!) I decided to finally take the plunge. A combination of a graduation, a congratulation, and an 18th birthday present, I finally purchased the Nikon D5000 that I've been eyeing ever since I laid eyes on it over summer.

This is Finley Norton Hastings. Ain't he a beaut?! I'm so in love. Siggghh, I just keep staring at him and feeling him and touching him and gazing at him. I CAN'T BE STOPPED!

EIGHTEEN CANDLES

It's official: I'm old, over the hills, legal, no longer jailbait, can buy porn & cigs, go to a strip club, get a lap dance, have sex, go to jail, win the lottery, and much much mucho more. I'm 18. So how did I celebrate my special day? At 12:00, my wonderful roommate tried to be sneaky (but failed). She managed to father 2/3 of our floor and stuffed them into our tiny room (I still have no idea how) while I was at the library and managed to get everyone to sing to me, which made me almost tear up. I love my pseudo norton family sooooo much!! Anyways, what else did I do...Hmmm well, I went to class. YUP. Being the nerd I am, I went to all my classes (which is only 2). After that I had dinner with my floor, which was nice, and we ended it with tiramisu and cheesecake (courtesy of my mommy!) It was a really nice birthday, probably one of the best I've had so far. It was one of those days where everything just seemed to go right you know?

So what did YOU do for your last birthday?!

My lovely friend from UCLA painted this and mailed it to me. I seriously teared up when I tore open the ambiguous package. I LURVEEE this soooo much!
Sillybands my friend from Davis mailed me and friendship bracelets from my loves!
dress (aka XXL plus size shirt): thrifted ($3)

GUILT-FREE GUILTY PLEASURES- PART 1

You, yeah you know you do this, don't even try to deny it. But it's okay, we all do it secretly...and love it.

1. Guys have No Shave November, well, so do we. We also have No Shave December, January, and February; why shave when no one's going to be feeling up on those legs, all bundled up in jeans/sweats/leggings/legwarmers right? Totally. Just don't forget to shave when it's sexy time, that would be an awkward moment...unless he digs rubbing his hands up and down a rug.

2. Wearing fake glasses to make you feel more intelligent.
I have REAL glasses since I'm practically blind but these make me feel studious/intelligent/COOOLER which is all that matters in the end, being cool I mean.

3. There's no shame for the only relationship in your life to be the one between you and your television. These relationships are real/true/FOREVVAAZZZ and they will never leave you unless the characters spontaneously die or find a better gig and ditch your beloved show. All relationships must come to an end eventually.

4. Black panties=want sex. Bianca Stratford said so.

5. If you've tried sleeping nude. Why not? Guys do it ALLLL the time.

6. If you dress cuter on days you know you'll run into a cutie. First impressions mean EVERYTHING, so always look your tippy top best you adorable thing you!

7. Use "I was drunk" as an excuse to do something outrageous. Especially in college, I mean who hasn't tried that once or twice or 10 times?! It's almost inevitable. "Sorry for raping your face last night, I was drunk" and "Sorry for running over your evil devil cat, I had a little too much to drink." It totally works and it's almost always acceptable...unless you rape someone. DO NOT DO SUCH THING.

8. Wearing slutty underwear does NOT make you a slut. Not necessarily. It depends on WHO sees the slutastic lingerie. Boyfriend, lover, yourself; A-OKAY! Someone else's lover, your best friend's boo, your father; NOT OKAY, NEVER OKAY!

9. Not being/dressing like a slut does NOT make you a prude. No. It just means you do not and will not sleep with anything that has 4 limbs and moves. It takes some wining, dining, and sweet talking before you get on your back. DUH. When will boys ever learn?

10. Fantasizing about someone/a situation that you believe will never happen because:
a) You're a pussy and need to grow a pair (GUILTY!)
b) You're dreaming about a celebrity/athlete/someone who is out of your league
c) You're dreaming about someone dead
d) You're dreaming about someone you shouldn't be dreaming about:
1)Brother/Sister (THAT'S DISGUSTING! STOP IT!)
2) Ex-lover (NAUGHTY YOU! REMEMBER, YOU'RE EX-LOVERS FOR A REASON!)
-Exception: If they're really THAT sexy...dream on!
e) YOU'RE PATHETIC AND NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE YOU'LL REGRET IT FOREVER AND EVER IF YOU NEVER EVEN TRY. SO GET OFF YOUR FREAKING ASS AND GO FOR IT.

SEXY SEX SEX SEXXX

Model: Leighton Meester (aka Blair Waldorf aka SEX GOD aka the reason for my hard on)

Leighton definitely looks like she's channeling Kate Beckinsale in this editorial right? Toootally. I am utterly in love with the massive curly swooshy hair picture; I just want to cuddle up and get forever tangled up in her soft swishy hair. She's also looking a bit like Eva Longoria, who's gorgeous as well. Not such a big fan of the colored photos, I'm not completely sure why, it might have to do with the fact that I dig her more as a brunette or something like that, there's just something off about the colored ones. But the B&W ones, mannnn, those definitely have me going GAGA! Girl is beautiful, she can really do no wrong in my eyes, gahh I have such a girl boner for her!

P.S. Just ordered myself a birthday present. It's a little bit on the extravagant/pricey side, but hey, a girl only turns 18 once right?! Well, technically it's a graduation/congratulations/happy birthday gift soo it's totally justified. YEAA. there we goo! What is it? Well, just wait and see! I definitely can't wait for its arrival!
