LOWDOWN ON THE HOEDOWN

I couldn't think of a niftier title and that was the first thing that popped into my mind, figures. So I'm back at home! Home, in Clayton, weird huh? Surprisingly, I love it. It's nice to be away from the chaos that is Berkeley but I miss my pseudo family in norton five dearly! We've become such close knit group, it's weird to not see them every time I walk outside my door or just sitting in my room. But being at home's nice, it feels so different but so familiar. Driving back on the road that I took home everyday after high school made me nostalgic about the past and all the memories I made here. It's like being enveloped into an ultra soft and plushy cashmere sweater of everything you knew and loved; it's endearing and something that has been sorely missed. Since I'm home and all gross and not clean, I refuse to look into any mirrors much less get dressed. So, here's some from a couple days ago when Berkeley was all sunny and made you want to dance around in a field of daisies.

This outfit made me feel like an explorer, kinda like Dora the Explorer minus the spanish part.

SWEET DARLIN'

Ever since the inquisition of my awesome happy ringtone from the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack, I've been crazy listening to all things related to the movie. She & Him became a daily listen and Zooey Deschanel's voice just brings me back to Old Hollywood glamour; smooth, musky, beautiful, it's utterly perfect. Anyways, I found out, at the last possible second (a day before), that She & Him was preforming at SF...FOR FREE! So obviously I found a group of friends (floormates) to accompany me on the quest to see them! The next day (today) we hopped on bart and made our way up to the city and, when we got there, we see that everything was fenced off so WE COULDN'T GET IN! -______- We resorted to standing along the side to see them and, let me just tell you, IT WAS SO WORTH IT! AHHHH! My heart was swooning and swelling the whole time! Her voice sounds exactly as it does on her records, it was so gorgeous.
Feeling a little nostalgic (for an era I wasn't even alive for but love nevertheless) for the olden days, I went for a little vintagey lingeriey look.

LOOK!!! LOOK AT THAT TINY LITTLE SPECK IN THE JEAN JACKET! IT'S ZOOEY DESCHANEL! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
The owl's name is Hoodwink and it's excited to meet you :)

Speak no evil, see no evil, smell no evil, hear no evil.
Perfect addition right? I think so!

TWEEDY

On Tuesday, I suddenly realized that the deadline for Cal to angrily take away my money was Wednesday! Oh no! What's a girl to do? Go on an adventure of course! Trekking my way across campus, I realize that my vision of Berkeley's campus has been limited to sproul and everything within a 2 minute walk from sproul. So walking towards University Hall and seeing more of the campus, I immediately fell in love all over again. The architecture here is freaking amazing! It honestly still, to this day, shocks me that I'm actually a student here. I mean, obviously Berkeley and I have our differences, as do all couples, we all have our lovers' quarrels. But in the end, it's a loving relationship that we have together. If I could kiss Cal to make up for all the shit talking I've done recently, I would.

P.S. I just got You Make My Dreams Come True By Hall and Oates as a ringtone, which of course, is from 500 Days of Summer. Every time I hear it now, I get the biggest fattiest grin on my face and my mood immediately gets 39102498 times better!

UNDER THE WEATHER

Waking up at 6:20 am for the gym was a terrible idea in the first place. When I did wake up, I felt coughy, stuffy, sicky, and I just couldn't leave the bed. Literally. I guess sleeping at 3:30 am was a bad idea, especially since I didn't even get all of my reading done. So much for getting stuff done in the morning...or ever. I'm feeling horribly under the weather today, and I dressed to reflect that, sadly. Sweatshirts and jeans, usually my enemies, are my BFFLZZZ today! Even though I did the unthinkable. I mean pairing blue, gold and red together, like HELLO! we hate Stanford, HATE! Nevertheless, I think it makes the outfit a little less blahhh and a little more blehhh!
Look at the Berkeley fog, its actually downing me instead of getting me all excited like it usually does. CURSE YOU BERKELEY FOR GETTING ME SICK :(

CALNERDSSAYWHAAA?!
crew neck berkeley sweatshirt: gift from ap gov teacher, yay!

Because I fell asleep with my contacts in last night, I've been feeling super nausea all morning. So, last resort, glasses. Now I REALLY look like a studious-asian-nerd-AKA-real-berkeley-student (KIDDING! love my asian nerdies!)

SANFRANADVENTURES

WHAT IS THERE TO DO IN BERKELEY ON A SATURDAY?! Go to the CAL V. COLORADO game, pregame on frat row, sleep, study, eat, go home, or go to the city....and to the city we went!
It was one of the most gorgeous day I have ever witnessed in SF. The sun was shining, someone kidnapped all the clouds, and the wind went amiss too! It was utterly perfect. Walking up to Cheesecake Factory, we saw a sneak peek of the Christmas decorations! OMG, I so can't wait for the giant Christmas tree, the lights, the cold, the hot chocolate, the mistletoe, the songs, pretty much everything!
We started the day off at Cheesecake Factory where we ate a delicious lunch in the company of pigeons and seagulls. One seagull just would not quit gawking at us and it caused a huge scene as 3 girls sat shrieking and shouting insults at a seagull.
HOTNESS COMES IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES. AMEN. AMEN. LOVE.
After that, we went shopping and it was fabulous! Little did we know that it was a one day sale at Macys, so everything I bought was marked down about 75%, LOVE!
(american rag floral shirt; $11, orange bow tie shirt; $8, snake printed high-waisted shorts; $5)
I'm actually deathly afraid of snakes/reptiles so this is my attempt at trying to get over them, slowly but surely.
COVETED! I've been lusting after them since I first laid eyes on them in April. But with the price tag of $90, it just couldn't happen. Then I see them again for only $20, so naturally, I pounced! AHH, they are gorgeous and lovely and beautiful! Too bad I can't really walk in them...I'll just sit and have someone carry me around, good idea yeahh?

Didn't really have time to take any good outfit pictures, but here are some random shots!

IT'S 2 AM...

For the past four hours I've been reading, stalking, enjoying a photo vomit of all things that inspire me in the fashion world. In my defense, I'm gathering inspirational images for my collage, which is homework for my decal, so I'm honestly not that pathetic (well...kind of). Jack Johnson has been keeping me quite mellow and peaceful, man is his voice soothing. Too bad his concert tickets are $$$, otherwise I'd definitely be there to sway from side to side. On another note, next Monday is a free advanced showing of "Buried" starring the one, the only, Ryan Renolds! YUM! Even better, he's suppose to be hosting a Q&A, HERE, AT CAL! SWOON! My media and technology decal is definitely scheduled at that time, but I'm allowed to have 2 unexcused absenses...and I feel like this is an epic way to use up one of those!

DAZY

I'M FINALLY CONSIDERED A FULL-TIME STUDENT! 13 UNITS, YES YES YES! I was accepted into the digital photography decal and the art of thrifting and revamping decal! My inner-self is gushing because there was an application process and double the amount of available seats applied, and I got in! While it may not be a great feat, it definitely is when it's the first awesome news you've heard in a while. I'm also taking a media and technology decal which is about blogging, magazines, media, internet, and advertising. PERFECT MUCH? Again, I gush! Feeling slightly dazy this morning, which may have something to do with the fact that I woke up at 11:50 am...
