VALENTINE BLUES

Happy belated Valentine's Day my lovelies! :) Aww shucks, each and every one of you are my valentine this yeah, awww yeah! So, as stated before, my floormates + Julie decided to celebrate v-day a day early by having a nice "classy" dinner at Cheesecake Factory in SF, might as well pile up on the carbs since we're alone anyways right? Totes!
I honestly don't know why we decided to wear heels to frolic around in the city (We obviously wanted to be badass motherfuckazzz! Or we attempted to be), but we did. Especially with my swollen ankle, I realized it was a bad idea the moment we hit the pavement in SF, shit. But we roughed it out, and appeared all glamourous and shit (more like tripping and sliding all over the place) while trying to wait out the 90 minute wait for a table of 8. Oy! But we did, well our poor stomaches barely did as we devoured the two basket of bread within 5 seconds upon sitting. Go fatties! The dinner was delicious, the conversations were memorable; the whole night was lovely, fun, and a little oh la laa! ;)
Monday morning, DUN DUN DUN, D-DAY (Domesday), I received two packages that just made my whole day a whole lot sweeter. My best friend, Josh from UCSD, sent me two boxes of thin mints (my fav!) just because he's the sweetest guy ever! They're delicious and happily in my tummy (or more likely, my ass) OH, OH, OH! I also got my giveaway package from Chelsea ver at Zipped, and it made me smile so big! Thank you two for making me super gushingly happy on such a day!
Later on that day, after all the dreadful classes and dribble drabble of rain, Julie and I opted for a sad approach to the whole day. Rather than a happy "LOOK WE'RE SO IN LUBBB CAUSE I HAZ BALLOONS AND CHOCOLATE AND WE KISSY KISSY" kind of ordeal, cause, well were not in a relationship, we went on a friendly date. We had dinner at Bongo Burger, which was super delicious and scrumptious and meaty, yum. After that we took a stroll down to Shattuck Cinema to watch Blue Valentines, which we heard would bring on the waterworks and we were ready to cry, cry, cry. And boy did we cry.
Blue Valentine was heartwrenchingly real and, as cynical as it may sound, it made me realize how lucky I am to be single. Coupledom just spells out DOME (HA, HA GET IT? I MADE A FUNNY IN A SAD SITUATION! GO ME!) to me at the moment. I couldn't possibly handle such a big THING in my little life right now. I'm just happy being...me! I cried within the first 10 minutes and did not stop until the credits stopped rolling. I was in shock. My heart ached for them. My heart ached for me. My heart just ached. It was a brilliant movie to say the least, but not something I'd watch again anytime soon. Or ever.

  1. aww, you are just TOO cute all the time Anisa, even always in-person!! haha. i love your Valentine's Day outfit so much! just a hint of sparkle goes a long way, and i love how you layered every piece! aand omg I watched Blue Valentine too with the boyfriend (bad idea!!), it gave me a bad feeling in my stomach after or literally made my heart hurt haha (rare for movies to do that). Ryan Gosling was AMAZING, and who knew that girl from Dawson's Creek would be THAT good!? lol. :p
And you ladies are so stylish ;), bet you got more creepers on BART and around SF lol! But take it as a compliment ;). And I hope your feet are okay! I walked around the city with 5 inch platform wedges once..but you were in heeels, so must've been worse :/.
Anywhoo, can't wait to see you again girl! Pleease me, you, and Sherrie needsta do some damage in thriftstores and stuff our faces with some GOOD food this coming President's Day Weekend!! :) See you soon lovely!! :)

  2. !!! THE NAILS!!!

Also, have to agree with Kathleen, your layering is bomb. (Also, tell your friends that the girl in the striped dress has an AWESOME outfit, and the girl in the headscarf has OMGSHOES.)

I've been wanting to watch Blue Valentine, but I feel like it's something I'd enjoy better alone. Maybe this means I need to take myself on a date. That'd be more romantic than what I did on my Valentine's Day. (Netflix The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. That is some unromantic but thrilling shit right there, man. I'll take Noomi Rapace over a man any day. Unless that man is Andrew Garfield.)

  3. You and your friends look so cute and I looove the color of your cardigan! Also, I'm sorry for your poor feetsies, but at least they looked super cute in your heels! And I love the hearts you added to your nails! Are those sequins? Blue Valentine- I've heard good things but now I am prepared that I will definitely be super saddened after I watch it- I still want to see it though!

  7. Happy Belated Valentine's Day! You and your girls look flyyy! :) Your friend on the right (in the coral shirt), her shoes are hella fly! My friend likes your booties (I agree!). It looks like you had fun! I spent Valentine's Day with two of my girls at Olive Garden and then with my parents that night. Overall, it was a fun day. I didn't see many couples (I am quite surprised!), so that was interesting! Hope your day is going great!

  8. That is so freaking cute that you and your floormates had a Valentines-like-date thing. My roommates were supposed to do that, but we just ended up watching Sleepless in Seattle in our PJ's in our apartment while eating strawberries and drinking white wine. It was very depressing haha.
Your frilled top is so cute - so perfect for that romantic look!
And if you feed me, I will take you to all the shows you want! Although most of them are 21+ because we're sponsored by Skyy Vodka. I can't even go to some of them because I'm not quite 21 yet.. sigh.

  9. You and your friends look like such a stylish bunch :)

I hear you on being happy being single... sometimes I get a little envious of happy couples, but at the same time, it's too much for me right now! I'm seventeen, no need to be so serious just yet, you know?
